How do we support service user with mental health needs?
At Serenity Care Company, we’re dedicated to supporting individuals living with mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, depression, and anxiety, as well as those with learning difficulties and autism. We understand that mental health challenges affect everyone differently. That’s why we take a person-centred approach, offering compassionate, consistent support that helps each individual feel understood, valued, and empowered.
Our goal is to promote wellbeing, stability, and independence — creating calm, safe spaces where people can thrive at their own pace.
Complex behaviours
we provide specialist support for individuals who present with complex behaviours associated with conditions such as learning difficulties, autism, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and other mental health needs.
We understand that behaviours are a form of communication — often reflecting unmet needs, anxiety, or distress. Our approach focuses on understanding the person behind the behaviour, identifying triggers, and creating supportive, structured environments that promote calm, safety, and positive outcomes.
Bespoke support
1. Person-Centred and Compassionate
Every individual we support is unique. We take time to understand each person’s communication style, preferences, and needs, tailoring our care to promote trust, comfort, and independence.
2. Skilled and Experienced Staff
Our team members are fully trained in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention, ensuring that every response to challenging behaviour is safe, respectful, and focused on positive outcomes.
3. Flexible Staffing Ratios for Safety and Support
To ensure the wellbeing of both service users and staff, we provide flexible staffing levels — ranging from 1:1 to 4:1 support — depending on each individual’s assessed needs. This allows us to maintain a calm, controlled environment where safety and dignity remain our top priorities.
4. Safe, Structured Environments
We create calm and predictable settings that help reduce anxiety and prevent behavioural escalation. Our environments are designed to support sensory needs and encourage positive engagement.
5. Collaborative Support
We work closely with families, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that each person receives consistent, holistic care that supports both emotional and behavioural wellbeing.
6. Promoting Positive Outcomes
Through consistent support, understanding, and structure, we help individuals develop coping strategies, emotional regulation, and improved quality of life — enabling them to thrive in the least restrictive, most empowering setting possible.
