What is PBS?
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach designed to understand and support individuals who display challenging behaviours. By identifying the reasons behind these behaviours, PBS helps develop proactive strategies that promote positive change, improve quality of life, and reduce the need for restrictive interventions. At Serenity Care, we use PBS to create supportive environments where everyone feels safe, respected, and empowered.
How do we use it
At Serenity Care, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is central to the way we deliver care and support. Our skilled team works closely with each individual to understand their unique needs, triggers, and strengths. Using PBS, we develop personalised support plans that focus on prevention, teaching new skills, and promoting positive behaviours. This approach helps us create safe, respectful environments where challenging behaviours are reduced, and individuals are empowered to lead fulfilling, independent lives.
TeamTeach
TeamTeach is a positive, proactive approach to managing challenging behaviour that emphasises de-escalation and the least restrictive interventions. At Serenity Care, our in-house TeamTeach tutors ensure that all staff are trained to safely support individuals while maintaining dignity and respect. This training aligns closely with our core values by promoting safety, compassion, and empowerment. It equips our team with the skills to handle difficult situations confidently and calmly, helping to create a supportive environment where everyone feels secure and valued.
